Blue loved her life. She loved her school, her home, her neighborhood, and most of all, she loved that her life was very simple. Every day she would wake up, eat breakfast, go to school, and come back.
Now, every day had some surprises, some event, but it was pretty simple otherwise.
One morning, she woke up, took her best friend (stuffy) Tibbles the sloth, and went down to breakfast.
“Good morning, my little lizard,” Daddy said.
“Good morning!” I responded. “Could I have some eggs, and where is mommy?” I asked.
“She had to go to someone’s house to help them, so I’ll be taking you to school.”
On the way to school, as they walked, she asked, “What are we doing tomorrow for Saturday?”
“We are going to the mall and pick out Christmas presents,” he answered.
“OK,” she said.
“Listen up, class.” said Mrs. Hope at school. “We are having a Christmas party next Tuesday, so I need you to pick up a $5.00 gift card to bring for a gift exchange. Everybody got that?” she asked.
“Yes, Mrs. Hope,” the kindergarten class answered.
The next day Blue and her parents (and Tibbles) went to the mall. “I need a $5 gift for the Christmas party at school,” Blue said.
“OK, Mom will go with you, and I will go get my gifts for you,” Daddy said.
As they walked, she spotted a toy store. “Let’s go in there,” Mom said.
When they walked in she saw so many toys. Small toys. Big toys, squish toys, and round toys!
“It looks like every toy is $10 off, so you can get a $10 toy and it will be $5!” Mom said.
“OK” Blue said excitedly. “I’ll go look over there!”
“K. I’ll be over here if you need me,” Mommy called after her.
Blue gave a thumbs up she looked all over the store until she found the perfect gift. A Frisby! “Found one, found one!” she called to her mother.
“OK, how much is it?” Mommy asked.
“It’s $6.50,” Blue answered.
After they paid, they exited the store. “We need to find two presents, one for Daddy and one for Mrs. Hope,” Mommy said.
“I was thinking about getting flowers and chocolates for Mrs. Honey, so let’s get those first.” When they headed out of the chocolate store with chocolates and poinsettia, they headed to the hardware store for Daddy’s present and got a special saw tool.
As they were heading to the car with all their presents, Blue realized, “Oh, no! I left Tibbles in the mall!”
“Let’s go find him,” Daddy said.
First, they searched the toy store. Second, they searched the chocolate store. Then, they searched the hardware store. Finally, they asked the security guard.
“No, I haven’t seen your stuffy, but you can check the Lost and Found. I’m sorry,” he said.
“Thank you, sir,” Mommy said. They went to the Lost and Found but they didn’t see anything.
“I’m sorry,” Dad said. “Let’s go to the car, maybe we’ll see him on the way.”
“OK,” Blue said sadly.
When they were driving home, a present box fell and out came Tibbles!
“I found him! He was in Daddy’s present!” Blue exclaimed. “Hooray!”
